CT Glass are thrilled to announce that they have achieved the highest accolade of FORS Gold.
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme for fleet operators which aims to raise the level of quality within fleet operations. It demonstrates which operators are achieving exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency, and environmental protection. Gold accreditation is only awarded to exceptional operators who have met the most exacting targets.
CT Glass Ltd passed their initial audit and began to implement best practices to quickly achieve Bronze accreditation in 2017. Having realised the advantages of the scheme, the company set the intention of progressing through Silver to Gold by 2021.
Paul Smithson, Transport Manager, explains that ‘the aim is to demonstrate to our clients that we excel in what we do, and aim to be the top of our game from the moment the order comes through to the moment the glass is delivered. The accreditation has helped us to achieve best practice by improving our procedures and ensuring our drivers are fully competent and qualified in the tasks ahead of them. The FORS process has enabled us to achieve significant improvements, including reductions in fuel use, reduced CO2 emissions, lowered NOx and Particulate Matter emissions as well as an improved road safety record and decreased transport related fines’.
FORS approved training was provided by our local FORS Approved Training Provider Protea Training and CT Glass have made the most of the FORS tools on offer, utilising the spreadsheets and documents available on their website. Fuel usage, PCN’s and Incidents are all managed using the FORS Fleet Management System (FORS FMS), whilst FORS Associate Aquarius IT is used to manage our drivers’ hours and working times alongside TomTom Webfleet to ensure the most efficient routes are used.
