CT Glass have recently supplied specialist blue glass for the Halifax Bulidng Society to create external signage for a branch, refered to as a “Blue Lantern”.
The project required 21.5mm toughened laminated, which was created using two 10mm arctic blue toughened glass pieces with three layers of coloured interlayer. CT Glass needed to specifically match the Halifax corporate blue colour within the glass, which required a solid white interlayer in the middle with a blue interlayer on both the top and bottom.
The project also required drilling 58 holes accurately into the front panel to hold the illuminated sign. Given the type of glass this was no mean feat, as in order to laminate the glass both pieces of glass had to have the holes in the exact same locations – 58 times!
